With a contract coming before the membership, I wanted to bring things to your attention!
Do not get in love with the big, bold numbers. The devil will be in the details.
So let me bring some of my own numbers for you
Since the start of the contract in May 2023, the CPI ( Inflation Number for New York) has been 13.70%
Since the start of the 2019 Contract til now, it is 30.38%
The total value of the past contracts has been compounded at 20%.

So let’s talk about the word compounded. That word is used to get you think you’re getting more. Unless you get a bonus, assume everything is compounded and pensionable unless the contract says otherwise. The MTA also plays fuzzy math as well. Keep in mind that the MTA budget is for 2% per year. Look at the document and listen to the MTA board meeting.
Casino Revenue should go toward operations, not capital construction.
Congestion pricing goes to capital construction. The Union should make sure the MTA does not move money from operations to capital construction.
